Production without intermediate picking

Today we present a new module developed by NaN·tic for OpenERP 6.0 that simplifies production orders when an intermediate picking step is not needed—the collection of available components from stock and their movement to the production area.

The module lets you check material availability directly from the production order to determine whether production is possible. It follows the application’s usual workflow and respects the use of supplies, allowing you to continue using the supply calculation process or its planned application, change the status of planned production orders when they can be fulfilled, and launch the purchase or production orders required to start production.

When a production order must be prioritized, the module allows you to cancel the component reservation and release the components so they can be assigned to the priority production order.
